It's necessary to let the valve guard dry and let the instrument breathe. If you keep it on your trumpet for a long time without letting dry, the moisture accumulates in the protector and under it, which is bad for the trumpet. 

• Fits all types of finishes (lacquer, raw brass, silver). If you use this accessory with the silver finish, remove it after concerts and classes – it’s important to let your trumpet breathe. 

• Long-lasting genuine leather. The lifetime of our trumpet valve guard is approximately 5-10 years. The worn out leather valve protector should be regularly replaced with the new one, as the worn out leather doesn’t perform its function.
